A typewriter from the Italian manufacturer Everest, 1954-1961

The Serio company, who started the production of the Everest typewriters in the 1930s, at that time, was one of the four typewriter manufacturers in Italy.

The history of Everest began around 1930 in a factory in Crema, in Italy, that produced agricultural tools. In the 1930s, the focus was on selling a national product and also on using visually appealing advertising, as Olivetti did throughout its commercial life.

In 1963 they had a range of portable typewriters, mechanical calculators, and typewriters for accounting, this model 92.

Everest company produced different types of typewriters, both portable and office typewriters.

In 1934 the factory produced 1000 portable typewriters.

In 1951, after the post-war reconstruction, the factory had 1,400 employees and occupied 10,000 square meters of space.

The production also includes calculators.

In 1961 they had 1800 employees and produced 100000 machines.

In 1962 they sold the company to Olivetti and closed the company.
