In Sweden they did good calculators
This is a Facit electronic calculator from around 1970, from Sweden, with typical the design from ’60 years.
Facit was a big producer of mechanical calculators from 1922 to 1972. But in the mid of 1960s years they did not produced directly their electronic calculators, but they were made by Sharp, a Japanese company, and rebranded Facit.
But being a producer of mechanical calculators, they had problems in facing the market change to electronic calculators. In these years electronic calculators were rapidly improving their performances and gained larger market shares. Facit was unable to follow this technology change, the mechanical calculators became obsolete, and they went rapidly out of business. In 1973 they were acquired by Electrolux.
In that period, electronics was taking more and more market share over mechanics.
