Olivetti Studio 44

Hello everybody.

This is the Olivetti Studio 44, from 1966, it produced from 1952 to 1967.

As usual Olivetti used a famous designer to design it: in this case Marcello Nizzoli.

The Olivetti Studio 44 was used by a lot of famous people: Haruki Murakami, Tom Robbins, Irwin Shaw, Kurt Vonnegut, Tennessee Williams, Ingeborg Bachmann, William S. Burroughs, Raymond Chandler, Noel Coward, Ralph Ellison, Federico Fellini, Stan Freberg, Alberto Moravia and Thor Heyerdahl.

The Studio 44 it’s a portable typewriter with all the standard functions and some advanced function for a portable: tabulator, touch regulation, etc. It was made in different colours, light blue like this, but also beige or light green.

Here there is a video about this typewriter.

And here there is a manual of this Olivetti Studio 44
