Olivetti Tekne 3 (1964)

The Olivetti Tekne 3 was designed in 1964 by Ettore Sottsass, who went on to design many other successful Olivetti typewriters of the time.

It was an electric office typewriter, designed for heavy-duty work but with a focus on design to blend in with the office decor of the time. Each function was powered by an electric motor, making each function easier and faster.

It included many features to facilitate office work: an end-of-paper indicator, a keystroke intensity control, a carriage return key (instead of a lever), automatic repeat for certain keys, automatic paragraphing, automatic margins, a tabulator, a half-step return, and a removable roller for assisance.
