Thales Patent Rechenmachinen
This one in the video is the THALES PATENT RECHENMASHINE, a German mechanical adding machine with pinwheel gears manufactured by Thaleswerk Rechenmaschinen Spezialfabrik, it’s a calculator made in Germany.
This model has been built around 1950 to 1960, it’s an earlier version of the KA model, you can see it because there is a wheel instead of a lever on the left.
It has 9 rows of numbers on its front from 0 to 9, and 8 column.
KA stand for Klein-Addiermashine, it means small adding machine.
It’s completely mechanical, and it’s quite heavy, around 2.6 kg. It’s not electric, so zero emissions.
There are 9 digits, so you can make calculation up to hundreds of millions.
You can make additions and subtractions, and it’s quite easy to use.
